BELLEFONTE, Pa.Jerry Sandusky was convicted of 45 counts of child sexual abuse Friday night and faces spending the rest of his life in state prison. His attorney said he would appeal the verdict.

Sandusky’s attorney, Joseph Amendola, asked Judge John Cleland to allow Sandusky to be released on house arrest, but Cleland summarily rejected the request, saying: “Bail is revoked. Mr. Sandusky is remanded to the custody of the sheriff.”

Sandusky was immediately led out of the courthouse in handcuffs as a large crowd of onlookers cheered. Sentencing was set for late September.

  1. I am pleasantly surprised that Jerry Andusky is getting the proper justice that was needed in this case.I read in my local newspaper right before the trial began that 10 of the 12 people on the jury and 3 of the 4 alternates all had ties to Penn State. I though for sure this slimeball would walk ever so proudly out of the courtroom as a free pervert child molester. My only hope now is when this low life piece of slime will get the same treatment in jail as he gave to the boys that he violated.
I would like to thank the jury in this case for making the right choice by sending this guy to jail where he belongs.Thank you jury for not letting your ties to Penn State cloud your judgement.
