It’s Monday In Pottstown

Monday again already!  UGH!  Meeting tonight and then work to do when I get home.  It’s gonna be a LONG day.  At least it’s not raining, yet.  Just maybe we will get lucky and avoid precipitation today!  Gotta get ready so this will be a short one for now.  Happy Monday Pottstown!

Ramen Noodle Lasagna

This isn’t your mama’s lasagna but it’s good.  Something out of the ordinary.  I would think kids should like this too.  I made some and it was delicious.

Go to http://www.mixtureofsorts.com find the Ramen Noodle Tuesday recipies.  Next is Ramen Noodle Taco Salad!!

If you try it let me know what you think.  I did add hamburger for a more complete meal.

Enjoy!

Back Up Off Me Cause You Don’t Know Me Like That!

I have a distinct sense of “personal space” that is frequently violated while in check out lines.  Many stores have small counters.  Don’t try and jam all your stuff on the counter before my transaction is concluded.  Don’t crawl up my ass till I can feel you breathing down my neck and DON’T try and watch while I put in the pin number for my debit card.  WTF people, that’s down right rude.  I wish I had a built in personal space violation alarm that would automatically go off when people are just TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT!

Back up off me!

Screaming, Out Of Control Children In Restaurants

Okay here goes.  WTF is up with parents who ignore their children in public while said child is making a spectacle of themselves.

This brat tonight was so loud I could not hear the waiter and I could not carry on a conversation with my girlfriend while we were trying to enjoy our dinner.

Back in the day, your mamma would have smacked your ass right then and there in front of God and everybody for acting up in public.  Sometimes you would get it again when you got home.  I am not advocating child abuse so don’t get all excited.  However, people need to establish ground rules for their children in public so the rest of us paying to eat out don’t have to be subjected to bad behavior.  What’s worse is the parent(s) sits there and acts like nothing is going on while their demon possessed child runs wild.  Not the time to “tune out” cause that’s a “cop out”.

Okay, enough said!

Friends

Evidently, I am very blessed to have so many awesome friends.  Yesterday, I was invited to my friend Gloria’s house for a picnic lunch.  We ate till we exploded.  Hamburgers on the grill. corn on the cob, watermelon and Gloria’s oldest daughter baked me a cake!  AWWWWW!  How cool was that.

We spent a nice afternoon together eating, laughing, talking and enjoying each other’s company.  Great way to spend a rainy Friday afternoon.

I am very fortunate indeed.

Michael Jackson Death Ruled Homicide!!!

Weeks after his death, Michael Jackson continues to dominate the news and social media applications.  He is still trending in Twitter!

So who the heck would wanna murder Michael Jackson!?!  I think he was already doing a good job of killing himself!  Very sad and unfortunate.  Feel sorry for the children.  Wonder if they will ever have a normal life or just be normal?  Having money doesn’t make you a good parent.  That goes for other celebrities as well.  I hate legislating things but the children always suffer.  Not fair!  They are helpless victims.

Today would have been Michael Jackson’s 51st birthday.

Happy Friday Pottstown!

It’s Friday…my day off…it’s raining…but I am having lunch at a good friend’s house and her oldest daughter is even baking me a special dessert.  How cute and awesome is that!  Gotta finish getting ready but wanted to pop in and say wassup y’all.

I am sure as the day progresses something will jump out that needs commentary, LOL!

Social Media

I am addicted to social media.  Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, websites, blogs, you name it.  Lately I have been sucked into Farm Town and Farmville on Facebook.  I now have two gigantic farms that require hours of work each day and I earn fake money for my labors.  Am I nuts already?  Oy veh!

The best benefit of Facebook is the renewed contact with my classmates from good old Canton High School.  It’s amazing that the bonds you form in school carry over many years later.  The genuine care and concern for each other is totally cool.

Make new friends, but keep the old;  one is silver and the other is gold.

Elton John – Billy Joel

Anyone who was lucky enough to attend the Elton John – Billy Joel concert at Citizen’s Bank Park in Philadelphia on August 1st got a real treat.  What a phenominal concert!  All your favorite songs for 3 1/2 hours!  The finale was”Piano Man” which turned into a gigantic sing along with 80,000 people.  Beyond amazing.  Probably the highlight of my summer!   Check out coverage by my buddy Marcus at :

Julie and Julie

If you grew up loving Julia Child then you will really enjoy this well acted and informative story.  Meryl Streep is awesome as Julia Child.  I went to a 4:15 showing at the UA in KOP and it was PACKED!!!!!!!  Highly recommended movie.

The Goods

Hysterical potty humor.  If you liked Animal House, American Pie and Porky’s you will like this.  Lots of f-bombs so not for kids.  Jeremy Piven and Ving Rhames are awesome.  James Brolin is very funny and Will Ferrell’s cameo is beyond funny.  Just plain silly and makes you laugh.  I recommend if you like this kind of movie.

District 9

Loved it.  Awesome movie with a great story.  Liked the documentary format and the prawns were kinda cool.  I think they grew on me.  Interesting premise!  I recommend.
