Roy’s Rants Turns Two!!

Birthday Clipart

With all the Irene hubbubb, I lost track of the date. Yesterday, August 27th was our first post two years ago. Many thanks to all our readers for their support over the last two years. We look forward to many years to come!

Record Setting Month Here At Roy’s Rants

June was a record-setting month and since you all are responsible I figured it was only fair to share the good news and say thanks much!

Records set in June were:

New daily high (views): 611

New monthly high (views): 6,556

New daily average high (views): 219

Eight of the past nine months have had increased views.

During the first six months of 2011 the total number of views have surpassed all of 2010!  We are on track to double the number of views over last year.  That would be fantastic!

Many thanks to all our readers, new and old.  Your support is invaluable.  Come back often and tell your friends about Roy’s Rants.  Your source of news and information with no-nonsense!

Roy’s Rants Celebrates First Anniversary!!

Today, August 27th, completes year one of Roy’s Rants.  We are still going strong and closing in on 700 posts!

We will continue to “tell it like it is”, to keep you informed and maybe put a smile on your face in the process.  We will continue to shine the light of truth on issues facing our community, our state and our country.  We will not waver from our commitment to present the facts so that our readers can make informed decisions for themselves

Thank you to our readers and our fellow bloggers for all your support.  We look forward to another great year!

***Blog Changes***

First of all, many thanks to all my readers for taking the time to visit Roy’s Rants.  We are approaching the one year mark the end of August and that is pretty exciting.

Including this submission, there are 615 posts on this blog.  That translates to 31 pages of information.  It occurred to me that as the blog changes and develops (along with grows) it will become harder for readers to find older posts.

If you are new to the blog, you may wish to go back to the beginning or you may be someone who has certain areas of interest and only want to read posts pertaining to specific subjects.

Another change that has occurred is that the blog is not primarily a Pottstown blog, but has branched out to cover events in many other parts of the state.  My readers from Lancaster, Scranton, Pittsburgh  etc… may only be interested in coverage of events for their region.  Trying to sift through 31 pages is rather daunting.  I know as I just did that to makes all these changes.

I have added and removed categories, which appear on the right side of the blog and at the bottom.  Many cities were added so that posts pertaining to those areas now fall under that category.  Example:  Harley Davidson posts will now be found under York.

If you don’t see your city or town, check under Pennsylvania or the closest big city near you.  If you live in Lititz, see Lancaster.  If you live in Montgomery County, other than Pottstown, check Norristown/Montgomery County.

When the blog was initially created, categories were added because I suspected those would be things I would post about.  In some cases that did not occur.

I hope this makes your experience better and saves you time and frustration so that paging backwards is only an option if you want to do that.  I may have missed a few posts along the way due to the scope of this project but for the most part, 95%+ posts should be easier to find now.

Thanks for your support!

Doors

It’s funny how life works.  Doors are always opening and closing.  As a firm believer in the “everything happens for a reason” theory, I don’t believe in coincidences.  Things happen for specific reasons and whether we like it or not we have no real control over much of anything.

I recently had a door abruptly close in my life.  It came without warning and I am not sure what to make of it all.

For me, this time of year is filled with self reflection and introspection.  The older I become, the more self-analyzation I do at birthday time.  This year is no exception.

Hopefully I can regroup and move forward.  Maybe tomorrow.  Right now there is more thinking to do.

Back Up Off Me Cause You Don’t Know Me Like That!

I have a distinct sense of “personal space” that is frequently violated while in check out lines.  Many stores have small counters.  Don’t try and jam all your stuff on the counter before my transaction is concluded.  Don’t crawl up my ass till I can feel you breathing down my neck and DON’T try and watch while I put in the pin number for my debit card.  WTF people, that’s down right rude.  I wish I had a built in personal space violation alarm that would automatically go off when people are just TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT!

Back up off me!
