Grand Jury Investigating Plum Sex Scandal Involving Possibly 8 Students

An Allegheny County grand jury is investigating whether teachers at Plum High School abused as many as eight female students over as many as eight years and that school officials kept it quiet, according to a sealed search warrant executed Tuesday.

The warrant — signed Monday by Common Pleas Judge Jill E. Rangos, who supervises the grand jury — sought records that could show whether district officials knew about inappropriate contact between staff and students.

The warrant indicates that a grand jury is investigating whether criminal charges should be filed against school officials for failing to report known sexual abuse.

Among the violations under consideration are tampering with records, fabricating evidence, obstructing the administration of law, failure to report abuse and intimidation, retaliation or obstruction in a child abuse case, according to the warrant.

Plum High School Teacher Hires Attorney Who Also Represents Jerry Sandusky

A Plum High School teacher has hired an attorney who also represents Jerry Sandusky.

Drew Zoldak, 40, of New Kensington, has hired Butler county defense attorney Alexander H. Lindsay Jr. to defend him against charges of witness intimidation.

Lindsay also represents Sandusky in the former Penn State assistant football coach’s post conviction relief act appeal of his conviction for molesting young boys.

Zoldak is accused of identifying a girl in his class as one who allegedly had sex with Joseph Ruggieri, 40, of Plum, an English teacher at the school charged with institutional sexual assault, corruption of minors and witness intimidation.

In Solving Camden Homicides, Intimidation Is Huge Hurdle

Ernesto Torres was gunned down nearly two months ago, the bullets flying, his family suspects, because of his dispute with another man about a woman.

Like others whose loved ones have been killed in Camden this year, his mother, Cary Soldevila, hoped for a quick arrest. But the investigation, which came to a head over the weekend when an arrest warrant was issued for a suspect, took patience.

“I want peace in my heart,” said Soldevila, 43, “that I can go to sleep at night and know that this person who destroyed my life is put away.”

Torres, 22, is one of 17 people killed in Camden so far this year. Of those 17 homicides, 12 are unsolved. Investigators say they have promising leads in some of the cases. But witness intimidation, a lack of people willing to step forward, and a backlog of homicide cases from past years – including 2012, when a record 67 people were killed – have slowed progress.

More Disturbing News In Today’s Mercury

I read about another incident of road rage this morning.  What the hell is wrong with people?  If you are going to ride someone’s bumper, you run the risk of your car getting hit with anything the car in front of you kicks up.  Then you follow someone into a Wawa parking lot and threaten them with a baseball bat?  To make matters worse you say you have a gun!

Fortunately, the perp was drunk and had impaired reflexes.  The victim was not hit. Getting whacked in the head with an aluminum baseball bat would leave a nasty mark!  Thankfully, the gun threat was made up.  When the State Police pulled this piece of work over, he got a DUI along with assault and whatever else they can throw at him.  GOOD!

Another upstanding citizen from Exton tried to murder a Phoenixville resident.  19 years old and you’re trying to whack people?  Are the Soprano’s casting again or what?????

Yesterday, a story appeared about a 29 year-old pervert driving around Pottstown, buck-neeked in his Dad’s car, whilst kneading his noodle in front of little girls.  I think you are a.  Old enough to know better.   b.  Pretty creepy using your Dad’s car to commit a sex crime..  c. In need of some serious counseling.

What is this world coming to?  Makes my head hurt!
