James Wolpert’s run on ‘The Voice‘ came to an end Tuesday evening.
The young man from Lancaster advanced to the final five last week via an instant save.
But on this week’s elimination show to determine the three Voice finalists, he was the first contestant sent home.
Lampeter-Strasburg High School graduate, James Wolpert is one the competitors on NBC’s “The Voice” and sang the heck out of Queen’s power ballad, “Somebody To Love”.

Christina Aguilera has reportedly faced consistent fines while fulfilling her duties as a coach and judge on hit TV show “The Voice.” Aguilera allegedly has repeatedly been late on set, and it has not been unusual for her to turn up two hours after her scheduled start time.
Some are now suggesting that Aguilera was simply ignoring the fines being handed out to her and that they in no way helped to correct her tardiness. It is now being reported that show bosses are thinking to increase the fine levels for persistent lateness from their stars in an effort to not allow the behavior to continue in future series.

Christina Aguilera has apologized to The Voice contestant Tony Lucca for being a little more catty than judge-like. That however may not be enough to save the diva, who is reportedly disliked by many crew members working at the show.
Christina Aguilera and Tony Lucca are both former “Mickey Mouse Club” stars, but long lost history didn’t seem to go far between the two, who kept up a steady back and forth battle during season two of The Voice.
After Lucca’s Monday night performance of “99 Problems” Aguilera charged that the singer’s song pick was “derogatory towards women” adding “if that’s what you have to do.” Later when her own contestant Michael Kiwanuka performed, she remarked “Now that’s how a real man sings.”
Blake Shelton earned bragging rights this year as the judge who picked the winning contestant on Season 2 of The Voice. Last year you may recall Adam Levine‘s contestant won.
The final four contestants were Jermaine Paul, Tony Lucca, Juliet Sims and Chris Mann. Second place went to Juliet Simms, third place went to former Mickey Mouse Club star Tony Lucca and fourth place went to opera singer Chris Mann.
Jermaine Paul was a backup singer for Alicia Keys before auditioning for The Voice. Congratulations to Jermaine for realizing his dream to move to the front of the stage 🙂
BTW – Christina Aguilara was pretty hard on her former Mickey Mouse Club costar, Tony Lucca for the duration of the competition. Not really liking her much this season. BOO!

Reality television has spawned many singing competitions, with NBC’s The Voice being one of the most successful. Back for a second season, judges Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green have selected another bumper crop of talent to compete on their live shows, where Americans get to vote for their favorite singer(s)!
One of this year’s contestants is Tony Lucca. Tony was on the Mickey Mouse Club with big stars like Christina Aguilera, Brittney Spears and Justin Timberlake. However, Tony hasn’t become a household name yet like the people I just mentioned. That’s not to say Tony isn’t an amazing talent, but there are plenty of talented people who don’t “make it” for one reason or another.
Charles W. Yerger, who taught English in the Spring-Ford School District for 21 years, is our Montgomery County connection. Mr. Yerger, in addition to teaching at Spring-Ford and working with actress Lisa Waltz during his tenure there, was one of the main tutors for the Mickey Mouse Club stars. Charles would impart knowledge and wisdom to the young actors from a trailer on the back lot of the Disney MGM studio. Mr. Yerger worked with these now household names when they were adolescents and played a role in shaping their lives, as teachers often do. Many have stayed in touch with their former teacher. Tony has not only stayed in contact with his former teacher over the years but even invited Mr. & Mrs. Yerger to his wedding.

To make the circle even smaller, there is also a Pottstown connection to Tony Lucca (or should I say former Pottstown connection). Charles Yerger’s daughter is well-known to many people in the Pottstown School District. Stephanie Carmody was a member of the President’s Task Force and long time supporter of the Pottstown School District before her recent move to Harleysville. So if you know Stephanie or Charles, you are also connected to Tony Lucca. Way cool!

The Country Music Association’s reigning male vocalist of the year for the past two years, and a judge on the hit TV singing competition show “The Voice,” will headline Allentown Fair’s grandstand, it was just announced.
Blake Shelton, whose latest album “Red River Blue,” released in July, hit No. 1 and went gold – meaning all six of his studio albums have hit Top 7 – will play the fairgrounds Aug. 29.

The comparisons between “American Idol” and every other singing competition on TV are numerous, but the “Idol” team — judges, host and producers alike — would like to remind you that “Idol” is the first and the best in the game.
Judge Randy Jackson says that although he is friends with Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul and he wishes them the best of luck with “The X Factor,” nothing else can compete with “Idol.” “I think that ‘Idol’ is still the best TV show of its kind, anywhere. We’re the original,” he says. “We kind of invented this whole game that everybody’s now copying.”
Executive producer Ken Warwick goes further, saying that “Idol” is the only reality competition you can count on for real talent. “This is the show that produces the stars,” he says. “There is no other series over the years that has produced anywhere near the number of stars that we have. To be honest, Leona Lewis was kind of a one-and-a-half hit star for a minute, but there’s no Kelly Clarksons, Carrie Underwoods, Jennifer Hudsons. Coming up on [NBC] now is Kat McPhee — they are real stars. They really are. And none of these other shows are producing stars like that.”
