180 Bands Set To Rock Gettysburg This Weekend

A three-day music festival will kick off Aug. 8 in Adams County, bringing 180 bands to Gettysburg from 14 states and Washington.

Gettysburg Rocks will feature multiple genres of music including rock, country, blues, folk, ska and reggae, according to Rob Simon, the brainchild of the upcoming festival.

Simon, host of “Under The Radar” on 105.7 The X in Harrisburg, said he got the idea for Gettysburg Rocks from his daughter, Ashley, who was planning a fundraiser for Penn State Mont Alto’s THON group.

American Idol” Season 8 runner-up and future front man for the band Queen Adam Lambert will play an area show, it has just been announced.

Lambert will play at 7:30 p.m. May 25 at F .M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts in Wilkes-Barre, the center has just announced.

Tickets, at $35, $45 and $60 will go on sale to Kirby members and a special online sale by Wyoming Valley radio station WKRZ-FM 98.5 at 10 a.m. April 20, and to the public at 10 a.m. April 23 at the Kirby Center box office at 71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre, by phone at 570-826-1100 or online at www.kirbycenter.org. Two Late-1970s Hitmakers To Play Sands Bethlehem Event Center – Together

Two late 1970s acts that between them have sold 35 million albums and had 14 Top 30 albums and 14 Top 30 hits will play at the new Sands Bethlehem Event Center, the venue announced  this morning.

Ted Nugent, known for the solo hit “Cat Scratch Fever” and “High Enough” with the supergroup Damn Yankees, will join Styx, best known for such hits as “Come Sail Away,” “Babe,” “Lady,” “Lorelei” and “Too Much Time on My Hands” for a show June 29 at the center.

Daughtry’s Musikfest Show Is Official; ‘American Idol’ Alum To Play Aug. 11

Musikfest announced Thursday what Daughtry‘s fan club had already leaked: The chart-topping, platinum-selling “American Idol” finalist will be one of the headline performers at the festival.

Daughtry will play the main SteelStage at SteelStacks in south Bethlehem at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 11. The festival runs Aug. 3-12.

Exciting day at Birdland Studios In Lansdale

Spent the afternoon at a recording for broadcast of a two hour radio show featuring live musicians and a poet/novelist.  4+ hours of work go into a two hour show.  Met some amazingly talented people and learned alot.  Took some great pictures which I will be sharing with all of you along with a write up in the next few days when I get everything together! Made some new friends too!
