Wedding Aboard Pittsburgh’s Gateway Clipper Ends In Arrests

A groom, his brother and a member of the bridal party were arrested early Monday when a drunken fight erupted after the newlywed was accused of harassing a server working at the wedding reception aboard the Gateway Clipper.

Mark Andrew Williams, 33, of Crafton, who had been married only a few hours, was charged with riot, harassment, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public intoxication after his arrest during what a criminal complaint calls a “tense, uncertain and rapidly evolving situation” at 12:55 a.m. that drew a crowd to the Clipper fleet dock at Station Square.

His brother, David Williams, 35, of Plum, an off-duty state police officer, was charged with riot, assaulting two Pittsburgh police officers, resisting arrest and related crimes.

Canton Man’s Bail At $1.5 Million After Police Chase

TROY, PA – A Canton man was jailed in lieu of $1.5 million bail after he fled from police and crashed his truck Saturday in Canton, according to Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Wilcox of Troy.

Wilcox said John Edward Gundaker, 44, of West Main Street, Canton, had a preliminary arraignment at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, and was unable to post bail. Gundaker faces a preliminary hearing at 1 p.m. May 7 before Wilcox.

According to court papers, Gundaker is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude officer, a felony of the third degree. In addition, he is charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor of the second degree; simple assault – attempt, a misdemeanor of the second degree; and two summary counts of reckless driving. In addition, he is charged with a violation of “driving vehicle at safe speed,” a summary offense; and a disorderly conduct offense.

According to an affidavit, Canton police officer Joshua Heckman was contacted by the Bradford County Emergency Operations Center (EOC), and was asked to respond to a domestic disturbance at Gundaker’s apartment. The EOC reported that the incident was called in by a man, who was on the phone at the time with the victim in the incident, Desiree Rios, no age or address given, when she was at Gundaker’s apartment and a fight broke out between Rios and Gundaker.

Pottstown Man Arrested After Foot Chase

POTTSTOWN, PA — Residents in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue may have been woken up by the sounds of police sirens and K-9 units early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop resulted in a foot chase.

Rickey Walker, 56, of Pottstown was the passenger in a tan Buick LaSabre that was stopped at 2:44 a.m. when borough police noticed the car had a broken taillight.

According to police, there were a large number of air fresheners in the car, which police said can be a common way to mask the odor of drugs.

Walker refused to give his name to police and ran east on Lincoln Avenue toward North Franklin Street while being pursued by officer Unruh and officer Sheehan from the borough police department, police said.
