Congratulations Scotty McCreery – Our New American Idol

Congratulations and best wishes to Season 10 American Idol Scotty McCreery and to runner-up Lauren Alaina.  What a year!

I thought the finale was the best in a while with many big stars and great numbers:  Judas Priest, Mark Anthony, Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Tony Bennett, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, Gladys Knight, Bono and The Edge and more!  I really enjoyed Scotty’s duet with Tim McGraw along with all the other performances.  It was good to see the top 13 again.

Again, congratulations to Scotty – a county superstar in the making!

And Then There Were Five: Siobhan Magnus Leaves Idol

After tonight, we are down to the final 5 for American Idol.  Shania Twain week was a huge success.  The final 6 all sang well and it was a tough call who would be going home.  Only Simon thought Siobhan’s performance was over the top.  The other judges loved it.  America agreed with Simon, as usual.

It’s anybody’s game.  Crystal Bowersox is the favorite however, she is getting stiff competition from the other four contestants. 

Everybody should be in it to win it.

Tim Urban Goes Home As Idol Gives Back

Teflon Tim Urban, a very likable young man, was sent home last night at the end of Idol Gives Back.  Honestly, I thought Casey would go home first based on the criticism from the judges but somebody had to be eliminated.  We quickly recapped Tim’s journey although he was spared from his “swan song” as the show ran way long as Ryan kept telling us it would.

Great show last night topped off with a performance from Elton John.  Carey Underwood was her usual phenomenal self.  Mary J Blige rocked the house with an all-star version of the Led Zepplin classic “Stairway To Heaven”.  Randy Jackson played bass along with other notable stars in the band.

Next week is Shania Twain week so that should be a great show.  It will be nice to see Shania back after a long public absence as the result of her devastating marital problems.

Evidently everybody loves them some Snooki. Vera Wang’s models have been sporting “poofs” ala Snooki from Jersey Shore on the runway as of late.  I guess the “Guidette” look may become as fashion statement!

Skii Bo Ski Has A Big Old Rap Sheet

American Idol contestant Skii Bo Ski aka Antonio Wheeler, who got a golden ticket in Hotlanta, has a criminal record as long as your arm.  Mainly for drug possession.  Lovely!  Fox 35 in Orlando broke the story.

Kate Gosselin – She’s Back!

Egads!!  What I feared most has happened.  Fame whore Kate Gosselin is getting her OWN reality show.  It will just feature Kate…sans kids. 

Evidently TLC (The Loco Channel) is putting her back on the airwaves later this year.  As of this writing the show has no title but Kate will be thrown into different jobs to see how she does.  LORD HAVE MERCY!

Somebody is stretching her 15 minutes way past the expiration date!

American Idol Season 9

Did you watch the show last night from Beantown?  What did you think?  Tonight we head to Atlanta. 

Some real weirdos last night and some excellent talent.  Looking forward to what tonight brings.  Victoria Beckham did a great job…loved her giving Simon a hard time, LOL!

Numbers just in….looks like almost 30 million viewers tuned in last night.  Guess we’ll see if this is sustainable.  Ellen isn’t even on yet so that’s pretty good.  Idol is still numero uno!

First Paula, Now Simon

The American Idol franchise will suffer another loss after this season.  Perpetually crabby judge, Simon Cowell, announced that this will be his last season.  After nine years, Simon wants to focus on one show (X Factor).

This might be my last season watching Idol, depending on who they replace Simon with.  Talk about big shoes to fill.

Jersey Shore’s Snooki Gets Justice

For those of you who watch MTV’s Jersey Shore, you may remember the recent episode where Snooki got punched in the face by a dude when the gang was at a bar.

Let’s just say under no circumstances should a male punch a female.  Especially a harmless person like Snooki.  Okay, she can be mouthy and annoying but that doesn’t justify punching a girl.

Brad Ferro, a gym teacher (OMG) at North Queens Community High School was sent to a teacher reassignment center after being charged.  Now that he has been found guilty, he is being fired!  GOOD!

Glad to see Brad won’t be around children any more since he obviously has problems controlling his temper!
