I must admit I thought both boys would in the final two. I was prepared to see Jessica Sanchez go home tonight. Apparently, America had other ideas. Joshua has a career ahead of him and we wish him well with his future endeavors.
Next week, the Idol finale will be Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez.
Tonight was a very good night for the men. I don’t think anybody was awful but some people were better than others.
IMHO the stars tonight were:
Clint Jun Gamboa – opened the show with “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder. He got props from the judges and a lot of applause from the audience. Good lively show opener.
James Durbin – sang Judas Priest’s “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming” and got the house rockin’. James got mad props from the judges and huge applause. Definitely a stand out moment for this season’s rocker.
Scotty McCreary – this season’s deep-voiced country crooner sang John Michael Montgomery’s song “Letters From Home” and got kudos from the judges and a lot of applause as well.
Stefano Langone – sang “Just The Way You Are” by Bruno Mars and got a ringing endorsement from the judges and audience alike.
Jacob Lusk – sang a Luther Vandross classic “A House Is Not A Home”. Luther Vandross was smiling down from heaven. Brilliant performance!! Brought the house down.
Casey Abrams – this season’s super talented musician and superb performer closed the show with “I Put A Spell On You” by Screamin’ Jay Hawkins. Judges and audience went wild.
I think we have a contest with the men this year. Some phenomenal talent.
