Kerns Pleads No Contest To Indecent Assault Charge

Robert J. Kerns, the former Montgomery County Republican Chairman, pleaded no contest on Monday to a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault in Montgomery County Court.

It was a negotiated plea deal with the Attorney General’s office, and Kerns will serve two years probation and be a registered sex offender for 15 years.

Kerns was accused of having non-consensual sex with an employee of his Lansdale law firm while she was passed out after a night of drinking in October 2013.

More serious charges against him – rape and sexual assault – were dismissed in June by a lower court.

Former Pittsburgh Principal Says He Never Acted Inappropriately In Gym Shower, Sauna

The former principal of Brookline K-8 told a jury this morning that he never acted inappropriately in the shower or sauna at his gym.

Alfonzo DeIuliis, 37, testified for about 40 minutes on the second day of his criminal trial on charges of open lewdness, indecent assault, unlawful conduct and related charges stemming from three incidents at the LA Fitness in McCandless between February and August of last year.

Earlier in the trial, three people testified that Mr. DeIuliis either propositioned them or masturbated in front of them in the facility.

Pottstown Teacher Reinstated After Sex Charges Dropped

POTTSTOWN, PA — The Pottstown School Board voted unanimously Monday night to reinstate a suspended middle school teacher in the wake of last week’s announcement that the sexual abuse charges against him had been dropped.

In June, township police charged Jared Leimeister, 33, of North Coventry, with inappropriate contact with an 8-year-old girl, who spent time with Leimeister between October 2012 and February 2013.

Leimeister, an eighth grade science teacher at Pottstown Middle school, had been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors and indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old.

On Aug. 19, the school board suspended Leimeister without pay until the matter was resolved.

Pittsburgh Public Schools Puts Brookline K-8 Principal On Leave After McCandles LA Fitness Lewdness Accusation

Pittsburgh Public Schools placed the principal of its Brookline K-8 campus on paid administrative leave, the district said today, after he was accused of asking a 17-year-old boy to allow him to perform oral sex.

Alfonzo DeIuliis, 37, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault, two counts of indecent exposure, open lewdness and harassment, according to court records.

He likely will be released tomorrow after he completes a behavioral clinic “to make sure he’s not a danger to himself or others,” standard procedure when charges involve accusations of a sex-related assault, his attorney, Phil DiLucente, said.

Birdsboro Man Pleads Guilty To Attempted Murder, Sex Assault, Attempting To Hire Hit Man

READING — The Berks County man accused of shooting a Limerick fire official in the head, sexually assaulting a minor and attempting to hire a hit man from jail to eliminate witnesses plead guilty to all charges against him on Wednesday.

Christopher Yingling, 43, of Birdsboro, received no special agreements in exchange for his guilty pleas and will spend the next 27 to 70 years in jail for his crimes, according to the Berks County District Attorney’s office.

“Given the brazenness of his crimes and the harm that he caused his victims, we are pleased with what is effectively a life sentence for the defendant,” said Berks County Assstant District Attorney Jesse Leisawitz in a statement late Wednesday night.

Berks County Common Pleas Court Judge Stephen B. Lieberman was scheduled to preside over Yingling’s trial.

Nazareth Teacher Accused Of Molesting Boy Student; ‘Who Checked This Guy Out?’ Board Member Asks

A Nazareth Area Middle School drama teacher has been arrested on charges that he sexually molested a male student at the school over a two-year period, according to court records filed Friday.

Shawn William Salevsky, 39, of the 1500 block of Kennington Lane in Lower Macungie Township, is charged with 22 offenses that include involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and indecent assault of a victim under age 16, sexual assault, corruption of a minor and reckless endangerment.

Among the allegations in court papers, police said that during a school production of “Snoopy,” Salevsky followed the boy into the bathroom during a wardrobe change and touched the boy’s penis before the boy ran and shut himself in a stall.

On a bus trip to see a play in New York, Salevsky “did open his pants and attempt to lay on top of the victim,” according to court papers.
