The fatal shooting of a 23-year-old Clay Twp. man during a home invasion that also left his father seriously wounded appears to be connected to the drug trade.

Chief of Northern Lancaster regional police David Steffen said Wednesday morning that the ongoing investigation shows the shooting was not a random attack.

“We’re highlighting that nothing at all in this investigation suggests an element of randomness,” Steffen said.

State police at Wyoming said they found three 9 mm shell casings, two .38-caliber live rounds, a laptop computer, an iPad computer, an iPhone, four cigarette butts, a swatch from a chair with blood, a swatch from a couch with blood, tissue paper with blood, pajama pants with blood, pieces of drywall with blood, socks, a safe and four CDs from a trash can, according to the inventory receipt.

Family members and friends said Brace was responding to certain commands such as squeezing his hand and moving his feet and toes.

WEST POTTSGROVE TOWNSHIP — In the day following the shocking murder of a 19-year-old taken by gunpoint from his West Pottsgrove home, who exactly that young man was remains a complicated question.

POTTSTOWN, PA — Pottstown police released details of Tuesday night’s stabbing on Queen Street that left a Pottstown woman hospitalized, including confirmation that the woman was found lying in the street where she apparently collapsed after being stabbed, police said.

Lissette Lopez, 42, was inside her residence at 685 Queen St., watching television in her bedroom when she was assaulted shortly before 11 p.m., according to investigators.

Pottstown Detective Cpl. Barry Grimm said a police officer was in the area at the time the stabbing was reported to police and was able to make it to the scene very soon after the call came in. The incident was initially dispatched as a “possible domestic,” and responding officers found Lopez in the street having suffered from stab wounds. Grimm said Lopez’s juvenile daughter and a third party, her daughter’s friend, were outside with her.

Grimm said the woman was conscious at the scene and transported by Goodwill Ambulance to Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
