FORTY FORT, PA – When Bill Bruch first saw the smoke rising, he knew something wasn’t right.

The 45-year-old Kingston resident who works at Edwards Garden Center Landscaping walked toward the smoke and realized it was coming from a burning Jeep Liberty that had stopped at the far end of a lot used to store dirt and mulch.

“I had a bad feeling,” Bruch said. “I got sick to my stomach as soon as I saw the car up in flames like that.”

The bad feeling proved prescient a short time later when a police officer broke open the driver’s side window and found a woman dead in the seat.
