Joshua Ledet Goes Home On Idol

I must admit I thought both boys would in the final two.  I was prepared to see Jessica Sanchez go home tonight.  Apparently, America had other ideas.  Joshua has a career ahead of him and we wish him well with his future endeavors.

Next week, the Idol finale will be Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez.

Who will be the Season 11 winner????

Elise Testone Goes Home On American Idol

And then there were five…

America sent Elise Testone home after two less than stellar performances and poor song choices.  Elise was argumentative with the judges as well… a turn off to voters.

According to Starpulse.com, their ranking of the final five is:

Phillip Phillip

Joshua Ledet

Skylar Laine

Jessica Sanchez

Holly Cavanagh

Paul McDonald Goes Home On American Idol

Paul McDonald is a nice guy and I do like him, however, I feel the other seven contestants have more potential and it was his time.

Vote for the Worst has been thwarted in their attempts to influence the voting to eliminate Haley or Lauren.  My faith has been restored after last week’s vote that sent Pia home too early.

America got it right this week.

We wish Paul well and hope he finds success.

Nice performances by Kelly Clarkson and Rihanna.

American Idol Upset: Pia Toscano Goes Home!!!

In what can only be described as a complete shock, Pia was sent home this evening.  Rounding out the bottom three were Stefano and Jacob.  Jacob was another surprise in the bottom three.  Neither Pia nor Jacob had been in the bottom three before tonight.  The judges were visibly upset.  Randy was shaking his head in disbelief and Jennifer looked like she was on the verge of tears.  All three judges walked up on the stage to comfort Pia, who could be heard sobbing over a microphone as her fellow contestants surrounded her.

Vote for the Worst claims responsibility for sending Pia home and keeping Paul.  The site’s goal is to eliminate Haley and Lauren in the coming weeks and have only the men left in the top six.  They described tonight’s episode as “hilarious” and are proud that they caused the frontrunner to be eliminated.  Personally, this is despicable behavior and American Idol needs to find a legal way to neutralize this website!

BOYCOTT Vote for the Worst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Karen Rodriguez Goes Home On American Idol

The lovely and talented Karen Rodriguez was sent packing tonight on American Idol.  Karen was in the bottom three again this week.  Unfortunately, even after a great performance of “Hero” by Mariah Carey, she was not saved by the judges.  Randy said it was not a unanimous decision so at least one judge wanted to save her.  All three judges must be in agreement to use their save.

Lee DeWyze, last year’s American Idol winner, performed a song from his new album titled “Beautiful Like You”.  It was a nice song with an alternative feel.  Lee’s presence was a reminder of how much has changed on Idol since he was crowned the winner last season.  Only Randy Jackson remains on the panel of judges.

The Black Eyed Peas performed their new song, which they dedicated to the people of Japan, titled “Just Can’t Get Enough”.  Not sure if it was just me but people did not seem all that thrilled they were making a guest appearance based on reaction from the audience.  However, when they finished singing their new song, the cheering was loud.

Rounding out the bottom three this week were Haley Reinhart and Naima Adedapo.  Both received some criticism from the judges after Tuesday’s performances.  Haley is not a stranger to the bottom three.

Buena suerte, Karen!

Ashthon Jones Leaves Idol

America voted and Ashthon Jones had the lowest number of votes in the first week of the final 13 competition.   Joining Ashton in the bottom three were Karen Rodriguez and Haley Reinhart.

Adam Lambert performed an acoustic version of his new song “Aftermath”.  A more subdued and wholesome looking Adam Lambert was greeted by shrieks of approval from the audience.  Ditty-Dirty Money & Skylar Grey performed “Coming Home”.

We wish Ashthon Jones much success.  I was very impressed with her exit interview on the Idol website.  Check it out if you have not already done so.

We also send a get well shout out to Casey Abrams!
