10th Annual PEAK Pottstown Celebrates Young Children/YMCA Healthy Kids Day

Description: Join us on Saturday, April 16 from 1-3 pm on the grounds of Pottstown High School for this free event! PEAK, Pottstown’s school readiness initiative is partnering with Pottstown YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day. Fun family activities and resources from more than 40 community organizations are being planned along with music from D.J. Steve, moon bounce, celebrated mascots, and Pipper the Clown to name a few. The YMCA will be providing fitness activities and more. Family Services’ Project HOPE is seeking a full time medical case manager to work with clients infected with HIV/AIDS throughout Montgomery County, PA.  The medical case management position will entail linking clients infected with HIV/AIDS to infectious disease doctors and monitoring their progress through treatment adherence and quality of care.  This position will be located in Family Services’ Eagleville Office.  We are looking for a bachelor’s level staff person with experience in case management and working with persons who have a chronic disease.  Fluency in Spanish is a plus but, not necessary to apply for the position.  Candidate must have a car and current car insurance.  All interested candidates should send their resume to Daiquiri Robinson, program director, at DRobinson@fsmontco.org.

Friendship House Parent-Child Home Visiting Program

The Parent-Child Home Visiting Program of Friendship House resumes in October 2011, providing twice-weekly visits to at-risk families in the greater Pottstown area to enhance early literacy and school readiness skills in children.   The program is at no cost to families, and children will be provided with new books and toys.  If you know of a family with a child who will be between 16 months and 35 months by September 1st who may benefit from this service, please contact Stacy Dori at 610-327-2200 or sdori@friendshiphousepa.org

Seeking Part-Time Home Visitors

Friendship House’s Parent-Child Home Program is seeking part-time Home Visitors to provide in-home school-readiness services for at-risk families in the greater Pottstown area.  The positions run from October through May each year with additional hours required in September.
