Driver’s License, Registration Fees, Fines Would Rise Under State Senate Plan

Senate Transportation Committee Chairman John Rafferty, R-Montgomery, released a transportation funding plan on Tuesday.  Here are some details of how approximately $2.5 billion would be raised from tax, fee and fine increases and spent once the plan is fully phased in:

FEES

— Imposes $50.50 licensing fee for six years, instead of a $29.50 fee for four years

— Imposes $104 registration fee for two years, instead of a $36 fee annually

Friendship House Parent-Child Home Visiting Program

The Parent-Child Home Visiting Program of Friendship House resumes in October 2011, providing twice-weekly visits to at-risk families in the greater Pottstown area to enhance early literacy and school readiness skills in children.   The program is at no cost to families, and children will be provided with new books and toys.  If you know of a family with a child who will be between 16 months and 35 months by September 1st who may benefit from this service, please contact Stacy Dori at 610-327-2200 or sdori@friendshiphousepa.org

Seeking Part-Time Home Visitors

Friendship House’s Parent-Child Home Program is seeking part-time Home Visitors to provide in-home school-readiness services for at-risk families in the greater Pottstown area.  The positions run from October through May each year with additional hours required in September.
