York County Homicide Victim Sami Young Was Stabbed Repeatedly, Coroner’s Office Says

TUESDAY UPDATE:
An autopsy Tuesday morning on the body of 21-year-old Samantha “Sami” Young determined she died of multiple stab wounds, according to the York County Coroner’s Office, which has ruled her death a homicide.

REPORTED MONDAY:

Samantha Young’s former boyfriend was covered in blood when police went to his Wrightsville home Sunday afternoon.

Marcus James Bordelon admitted to officers that he and Young had been in a domestic dispute inside his home Saturday evening, and admitted he “did use a knife to keep her from leaving the residence” about 4 a.m. Sunday, according to charging documents.

Bordelon claimed a large blood stain on his floor came from a cut on his own hand, police said.

Former Dupont Cop Charged With Sex Assault Of Boys

A former Dupont police officer was arrested Tuesday on charges he physically and sexually assaulted two young boys over a span of seven years, police said.

David Turkos, 42, of Dupont, was taken into custody after several interviews were conducted with the victims through the Child Advocacy Center.

One of the victims told officials that Turkos would handcuff them or zip tie their hands to the back of chairs or railings to keep them in place, according to an affidavit.

Turkos allegedly threatened the boys and their mother often, once claiming he would hide their bodies in Dupont and Suscon because no one would find them in the mine shafts, police said.

Philadelphia Has 4 Homicides In 12-Hour Span Sunday

Antonio Flores, 17, was the fourth person killed in a 12-hour period in Philadelphia on Sunday, police say.

And detectives are still searching for the 23-year-old who they believe is behind Flores’ shooting death inside a friend’s apartment in Spring Garden.

Flores was hanging out with friends on the 1600 block of Wallace Street around 3:25 Sunday afternoon when at some point, one of those friends pulled out a gun and fired once, homicide Capt. James Clark said.

Flores was hit in the head, and the friends in the apartment scattered, Clark said. One stayed behind and called police as Flores lay bleeding on the floor. He was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital about 20 minutes later.

Man Shot To Death By Lititz Police Officer Is Identified As 2009 Warwick Grad

The Lititz man fatally shot by police Saturday was a 2009 graduate of Warwick High School and attended Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, where he was named to the dean’s list multiple times.

Officials on Sunday released the name of the shooting victim, David P. Giliberti, who was shot and killed by a Lititz police officer.

According to his Facebook profile, the 22-year-old originally was from Cassadaga, N.Y.

The shooting occurred after police responded to 101 Arrowhead Drive just after 3 a.m. Saturday after Giliberti’s grandmother called 911 and said she needed help.

Woman Arrested In Sherman Hills Stabbing

Wilkes-Barre police are investigating a stabbing that took place at the troubled Sherman Hills Apartments on Monday morning.

Police say a 27-year-old woman, whose name was not immediately released, was stabbed by another woman during a domestic dispute about 8:15 a.m. at Building 308.

Officers were called to the area of the Sherman Hills entrance on North Sherman Street and arrived to find the victim had been stabbed in the back, police said.

WILKES-BARRE, PA — City police and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 47-year-old woman and critically injuring a 48-year-old man on Andover Street late Thursday night.

Police said the shooting at 389 Andover St. occurred just after 11 p.m.

Harrisburg Homicide Count Hits 11 For 2013

A man has been arrested and charged with homicide following a shooting that occurred late Saturday night near Dewberry and Blackberry streets in Harrisburg.

A city man in his 40s, whose name was not released as of 11 a.m. Sunday, allegedly shot the ex-husband of a woman with which he had been involved, Harrisburg police Capt. Annette Oates said.  The incident is classified as a domestic dispute.

The man who was shot, a 53-year-old city man whose name is not yet being released, died at the Harrisburg Hospital.  

Pottstown Police Use Pepper Spray To Break Up Fight After Domestic Disturbance

POTTSTOWN — Police had to use pepper spray to break up an altercation after an alleged domestic disturbance escalated on Friday afternoon.

Around 1 p.m., borough police responded to a call for a domestic dispute in the 500 block of Chestnut Street but when police arrived, the situation moved into the street.

Pottstown Police Chief Richard Drumheller said a man at the residence hit the windshield of a car multiple times, possibly with a baseball bat, and kicked in the front door of the three-story home. The residents locked themselves in the basement.

Argument Over Parenting Leads To Pottstown Arson Fire

(Updated at 3 p.m.) POTTSTOWN, PA — A borough woman was arrested for setting fire to her own home Sunday night after an argument with her domestic partner over parenting techniques with their children caused the police to be called.

Cora Lee Sharp, 48, is charged with arson after starting a fire in the kitchen of the home the couple and their two adopted children share on the 900 block of Spruce Street, according to the Pottstown Police.

The Pottstown Fire Department was dispatched to the residence around 9:06 p.m. Sunday and found multiple fires burning on the property, said Fire Chief Richard Lengel.

After 22 minutes, the fires, which were isolated to Sharp’s property, were extinguished.
