Community Invited To Mobile Job Lab And Open House At MCCC’s University Center

Pottstown, PA —Montgomery County Community College’s University Center, in partnership with its Career Services and the TriCounty Community Network (TCN), will be hosting a Mobile Job Lab and an Open House on Monday, Feb. 1, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the University Center, 95 S. Hanover Street, Pottstown. Both the Mobile Job Lab and Open House are open to the community, as well as MCCC students.

For the Mobile Job Lab, MCCC’s Career Services representatives and volunteers from TCN will assist participants with searching for jobs, writing resumes and using LinkedIn to create career profiles and broaden their contact networks. The services are free, and walk-ins are welcome.

During the Open House, visitors can meet with representatives from the University Center’s partners—Albright College, Chestnut Hill College, Immaculata University and Temple University—to learn about their programs and available degrees and certificates. MCCC representatives also will be on hand to provide information about the Virtual Campus and admission process.

Forensic Sciences Summer Camp Returns To Chestnut Hill College

The Forensic Sciences Summer Camp, directed by Joe Kulkosky, Ph.D., chair of the College’s biology department, will be once again offering the unique opportunity to students grades 5-12, to participate in a week-long summer camp with immersion into the Forensic Sciences. Presented during the months of July and August, the camp will be offered in two one-week sessions.

The Forensics Sciences camp will focus its curriculum on the collection and analysis of crime scene evidence such as serology, toxicology, entomology, odontology and trace evidence. It will also provide students with hands-on experience in several techniques used by professionals who conduct criminal investigations such as crime scene investigation, DNA typing, fingerprint classification, fabric and shoe print pattern comparisons and blood type testing.

High school students can register for the one-week session from July 13-17. Middle school students can register for the one-week session from August 3-7. The camp runs daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The fee for each session is $250 for high school students and $200 for middle school students. The fee must be received with the completed registration form in advance and registration is first come, first serve with each camp capped at 16 students.

Anisha Robinson Keeys Appointed To MCCC Board Of Trustees

Blue Bell/Pottstown, Pa.—Montgomery County Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Anisha Robinson Keeys, of Norristown, to its Board of Trustees by the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. The 15-person Board of Trustees is the policy and governing body of Montgomery County Community College.

With 18 years of fundraising and marketing experience, Robinson Keeys serves as Chief Executive Officer of Lance + Lee Planning. She advises corporations and philanthropists on how to make the largest impact with their money. She also helps organizations and thought leaders with corporate fundraising and organizational development.

In addition to operating a consulting practice, Robinson Keeys has held leadership roles with a variety of organizations, including the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, and Teach For America.

Robinson Keeys is a frequent speaker at conferences and leadership retreats across the country.

She is also the author of the book and curriculum “Get Corporate Sponsorship: A Step By Step Guide To Securing Funding From Corporations” and “51 Retailers That Want To Help You Raise Money.”

Robinson Keeys holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Chestnut Hill College. She is also a member of the institution’s Woman Donors Network, where she serves as an advisor for the Reflective Democracy Initiative. She also serves on the board of directors for the Columbia North YMCA, Rosebug 1919 Foundation, Livingbattlefield and the Solomon Principal Group.
