A vacant parking lot on South Side Bethlehem could see new life under a $6.7 million plan for a Mexican restaurant and brewpub under one roof.

Ashley Development Corp., based in the city, proposes transforming the 0.38-acre plot at 404 E. Third St. from a former Bethlehem Steel Corp. parking lot into a multi-restaurant space owned by Bethlehem 21st Century, according to Alicia Miller Karner, director of community and economic development for Bethlehem.

Ashley Development Corp. President Lou Pektor says the project would complement and be within walking distance of the entertainment venues that have been developing in that area of the city.

Lansdale is getting a new addition to their business district this fall.  Round Guys Brewing (gotta love the name) has signed a lease as 324 Main St. in downtown Lansdale.  In addition to beer the new establishment hopes to have a light food menu as well.

Round Guys will start being open weekends / holidays and go from there, as demand dictates.

The Mayor, Councilor and Code Enforcement have worked with the owners to make this a reality. (Imagine that)

Two Roy’s Rants thumbs up to Lansdale’s leadership for helping to fill a vacant downtown building with a business that will attract people to their downtown.

This is a huge step in the right direction for York!  The Central Market will hire a Chief Operations Officer who will be responsible for bringing in new high-quality vendors and more shoppers.

A new brewpub (Mudhood Brewing Company) is under construction and could open in April!  That will create more nightlife and help attract college students downtown!
