Unusual Summer Weather Creates Wine Lovers Dream

2010 will go down in history as an unusual weather year; record snow fall and a very early, hot and dry summer.  The hot, dry weather, coupled with just the right amount of rain, has produced one of the highest quality grape harvests in many years.  Smaller, sweeter grapes were produced, in bountiful quantities, which make the best tasting wines.

This is good news for Pennsylvania which is one of the largest grape producing and wine making states in the U.S.  This bumper crop of superb grapes will allow Pennsylvania producers to financially benefit from the fruits of their labor in these troubling economic times.  Wine, grapes and grape juice contributed $2.35 BILLION dollars to Pennsylvania’s economy in 2007!  A record harvest like this will substantially increase this figure!
