Poor Old Tom Hylton

Today’s Pottstown Mercury features a paid “pity-party” ad from Mr. Tom Hylton where he wails and moans about SavePottstown.com and a few residents who disagree with him.  This is neaty tied up with a big old bow as cyber-bullying and hatemongering.  How convenient.  When people disagree with us we label them as hatemongers.

Oh please.  Would you like a tissue?  Should we call a whambulance?

Maybe, just maybe, if you would learn to play nice with the other kids things would go so much easier for you.  Public perception based on present and previous performance is very poor.  Tactics used are questionable and raise eyebrows.

Nobody likes a know-it-all.  People don’t like to be side-stepped with secret meetings.  People like to be included and made to feel part of the process.  People need to feel valued.  Why is this so difficult to understand?  You aren’t Charles in charge of our lives.  That was a television character played by Scott Baio.  It’s not funny and cute in real life.  It’s insulting and annoying.

You made your bed, now you must lie in it.  Stop blaming others for the predicament you find yourself in Tom.  You have no one to blame but yourself.

  1. “Cyberbullying is the use of e-mail, instant messaging, chat rooms, pagers, cell phones, or other forms of information technology to deliberately harass, threaten, or intimidate someone. Cyberbullying can include such acts as making threats, sending provocative insults or racial or ethnic slurs, gay bashing, attempting to infect the victim’s computer with a virus, and flooding an e-mail inbox with nonsense messages.”

I have seen no one do anything of the kind on any of these sites. What I have seen is people express their opinions which obviously we are not permitted to have per Mr Hylton’s own law (a law we are not aware of).

The sites in question are there to give us the information that is lacking at meetings and in the media. Do we not have the right as Pottstown citizens to be well informed?

To Mr Hylton all I can say is ….would you like some cheese to go with that whine?

  2. whambulance…love it!!!

This is bordering on the absurd, really. Sounds more like a 5yr old rant about well, they did it…so I did it; it’s okay, right? Gimme a flippin’ break!!

If he’s so upset about the masterful art of blog maybe he should add it to his resume? Interestingly enough this is the first ad in a LONG while and he picks on people diagreeing with him but doesn’t make any mention of the people who seem to come to his defense, guess he conveniently forgot them?!? Instead, he could have given reason and clarity to his ‘plan’ but ‘doing unto others’ somehow allows him to sleep at night, I guess.

He claims to be sooo transparent but we see only what he shows us, and on his timetable. The future of this town isn’t a board game…these are real people, real concerns, real dollars and (should be) SENSE – this is his greatest downfall, perhaps.

Thursday will be SUCH a long night…should I bring slippers and a midnight snack?

  3. Funny…I just answered your question on the other post, here at Roy’s…I should’ve gone here first!?!?

Sorry…I was out ALL day. Not a single pot of gold found anywhere…better luck next year, I guess!
