Editor’s note:  Let’s hope we actually have a reason to watch all this hoopla.  Winning needs to be the focus this season!   No more excuses, Andy!

Two Sunday night games, two Monday night games, a Thursday night telecast and a multitude of stars coming to Philadelphia highlight the Eagles‘ 2012 schedule, which was released Tuesday by the NFL.

They’ll open their season Sept. 9 at Cleveland and close it on Dec. 30 at MetLife Stadium against the New York Giants.

In between, they’ll host the Giants on a Sunday night (Sept. 30), visit New Orleans on a Monday night (Nov. 5), host Carolina on a Monday night (Nov. 26) and will host the Dallas Cowboys on a Sunday night (Dec. 2).

Eagles Implode, Reid Sputters, Fans Ballistic

Andy Reid

Image via Wikipedia

Yesterday’s disgraceful loss by the Philadelphia Eagles to the New England Patriots has fans calling for Andy Reid‘s head.  As usual, Andy “takes responsibility” but offers no solutions.  The game was painful to watch.  The “Dream Team” is an embarrassing nightmare as evidenced by the booing from Eagles fans.  We can’t even win a game on our home field for cryin’ out loud!

Dropped passes, poor coverage, interceptions, a total Red Zone collapse and the list goes on and on.  Something drastic needs to happen.  If that means Andy Reid gets the axe then so be it.  Jeff Lurie better pull a rabbit out of his hat while he still has a football team left!  We need our mojo back!

Philadelphia Eagles Dream Team Finally Clicks!

Last night’s complete blow-out (34-7) of the Dallas Cowboy‘s by the Philadelphia Eagles gave fans a much-needed victory.  The “dream team” that had been much hyped before the season began finally gelled and played consistently for four quarters.

The Dallas Cowboys finally scored in the fourth quarter but were completely shut down by the Eagles offensively and defensively.  The Eagles made it look easy.

Andy Reid and his coaching staff as well and Michael Vick and his players were all on the same page last night.  The Eagles played like champions.

I hope this is a sign of things to come for the rest of the season from the Eagles.  It sure makes watching football fun again!

Rhetoric Coming From All Sides In Eagles Organzation

There is a LOT of talk coming from the Philadelphia Eagles organization as of late.  Last week’s loss to Buffalo put the Eagles at 1-4.  The inability of the Eagles to hold it together for four quarters is alarming, to say the least.  We can’t catch the ball, hold on to the ball, score or keep the other team from scoring.  Sounds like a serious problem.  So far we are hearing talk, talk and more talk.  Things are progressively going downhill as the season unfolds.

Obviously something has drastically changed from last season.  It appears we have yet to identify the root problem and make a correction.  This week we are being told the Eagles “plan to stay aggressive while working on the turnover problem.”

I think if things don’t turn around this week we may see some major leadership changes.  I say let the chips fall where they may.

Michael Vick Signs One-Year Deal With The Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles fans can breathe a little easier now knowing Michael Vick will be returning to the Eagles next season.  Vick’s leadership helped the Eagles capture the NFC East title.  The Eagles had a 10-6 season, despite Vick not starting and being injured.  For a “rebuilding year” we were all pleasantly surprised.

Vick had his career best NFL season after missing two seasons due to being incarcerated for a dog fighting conviction.  Vick was voted Comeback Player of the Year by the Associated Press and played in the Pro Bowl.

Vick’s estimated salary for next season is $20 million dollars.

McNabb Speaks Out – Feels Disrespected

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb...

So good old Chunky Soup finally opens his yap about getting demoted to third-string QB for the Redskins.  Of course, McNabb blames Coach Shanahan for not giving him a chance and for leaking news to the media before he was aware.

First of all, your performance this season should have been a clue that things were not exactly going according to plan.  I think this is the worst season I remember for McNabb.  It’s been a downward spiral.

As far as being disrespected, I think you need to put your big boy pants on and own up to the fact you have been a huge disappointment to the Redskins.  Maybe they feel a little disrespected by your abysmal performance this season.  Andy Reid is not around anymore to coddle your ego and make excuses for you.  Plus the rest of the Eagles team is outstanding and propped up your inconsistent behind week after week.

So Donovan, you have nobody to blame for the predicament you find yourself in except you.  The rest of the NFL is not as nice as Andy Reid!

Retire!

Eagles Embarrass Giants At Meadowlands

The Philadelphia Eagles gutted out a win yesterday over the rival New York Giants in the Meadowlands, coming from behind 24-3 at halftime to beat the Giants 38-31.  The Eagles scored 28 points in the fourth quarter.  The Eagles are now 10-4 for the season and lead the NFC East!

By comparison, former Eagle QB Donovan McNabb and his Redskins are 5 – 9 which is probably where the Eagles would be this season had he not been traded!

McNabb’s Career Swirling Around The Drain

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb...

Image via Wikipedia

Donovan McNabb‘s career is in free fall.  He is now being reduced to third string QB for the Redskins and coach Mike Shanahan said he may not be back next season.  Didn’t we just witness the hoopla over McNabb’s new contract a few weeks ago?  However, before the ink was dry he lost another game?

The Redskins are 5-8.  There are three more games left this season for the Redskins.  After next week, McNabb falls to third string for the last two games of the season.  McNabb’s performance has been erratic (say it ain’t so Joe) and he has dropped to 25th in the league with a 77.1 passer rating.  Not to mention his career-high 15 interceptions.

I think this season certainly justifies to anyone why McNabb is no longer No. 5 with the Eagles.

IMHO Donovan should bow out gracefully and retire while he still has a shred of dignity left!

McNabb Trade Rumors

The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that the St. Louis Rams have made the Eagles an offer for “Chunky Soup” McNabb.  The St. Louis Rams are stating this is totally false information.

Andy “I take full responsibility” Reid has made comments that the Eagles have received trade offers for all three QB’s.

What to do, what to do.  Any takers for Andy Reid while we’re at it??

Eagles Dump Westbrook

Brian Westbrook will be cut from the Philadelphia Eagles effective March 5th.  That certainly sucks.  If we are cutting people based on performance….I can think of others would should go before Westbrook.

Of course, Andy Reid is still backing Donovan McNabb so look for number 5 to return this fall.  Another season of excuses and crushed dreams for the fans.  Until the Eagles dump Andy Reid a Super Bowl win will continue to elude us!

Season Ends For The Philadelphia Eagles

Hopefully between now as next season, somebody will do some serious thinking about what’s not working here and make some changes.

Again, the Eagles were pounded by the Cowgirls and it was painful.

Chunky Soup needs to be replaced along with Andy Reid.  11 years is long enough and we just can’t seem to get it done.  Donovan thinks this was the second best season in his 11 years.  Well Donovan, I hate to disagree with you but you didn’t even win the NFC East and lost in the first round of the playoffs.  You lost games you should not have and squeeked by on games that should have been easy victories.  I see nothing to be very proud of.

Hoping something changes before next season!

Eagles vs Cowboys

What in the hell kinda playing was that yesterday???  Seriously, they should just stay home if they are going to play that lousy!

24-0  is just pathetic.  The cheerleaders should have been put in.  They would have at least been better to look at!

Reid and McNabb better pull it together.  How can this team play so great one week and completely SUCK the next??  It defies logic!

Sometimes it’s painful to be a fan!

Eagles Win Over Broncos With Last Minute Akers Kick

Thank you David Akers.  For some reason the Eagles decided they didn’t have to work much in the second half of the game and blew a 17 point lead in minutes.  Finally the game was tied at 27-27 and McNabb threw one hell of a pass which was originally called incomplete.  Reid wisely challenged which gave the Eagles field position for a field goal in the last 7 seconds of the game.

Whew!  My poor heart can’t take it some weeks!

Eagles Beat Falcons 34-7 In One-Sided Game

The Atlanta Falcons were no match for the Philadelphia Eagles today.  The Falcons finally scored at the very end of the game.  Kinda felt like that was a gimme.  Otherwise it would have been a total shut-out.

Michael Vick received alot of support in Atlanta.  Many people cheered and held up signs in support.  Vicki got his first NFL touchdown since returning.  Donovan got a break and stood on the sidelines.

I must say I am impressed at the amount of support Donovan McNabb is giving Michael Vick.  Looks like he is happy to share the limelight with Vick and was gave Michael a big hug after he threw the scoring pass.

Might we see a changing of the guard here?  Time will tell.

Eagles Come Alive In Snooze-Fest With Redskins In 4th Qtr

What should have been a slam dunk of a game was an eeked out victory when the Eagles decided to finally show up and play the last half of the 4th quarter.  Some tougher competition coming up so people better start playing 100% from the opening kickoff.  What’s with the onside kicks????  Geeze Louise!  Weird decisions.
