POTTSTOWN, PA — Two men and a juvenile were arrested early Thursday morning after Pottstown police and the Ches-Mont Emergency Response Team served a “high risk” warrant at a York Street apartment and found guns and drugs inside, according to court papers.
Kahlil Brockington, 18, of 6504 Grays Ave., Philadelphia, Maurice Burruss, of 107 N. York St., Pottstown, and a juvenile who was not identified by police or in court records were taken into custody.
Brockington was charged with felony drug offenses and related offenses and arraigned before District Judge Scott T. Palladino Thursday afternoon. He was sent to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $75,000 cash bail.
Burruss, who also faces felony drug and related offenses, will be arraigned at a later date, police said, explaining he has a medical condition.
Three down and how many more, just like them, are tucked up in some slum rental housing harboring weapons and drugs? How many more will take their place today, next week?
The negligent, absentee owner of the property needs to be made to feel the pain. Do they make regular visits to their properties? Do they have a local property manager? Are they registered with a tenant list, as mandated by ordinance? If they aren’t registered, fine ‘em up to the maximum $1000.00 and make it stick so the Judges can uphold it. Let these creeps know that they stand to lose their properties by enabling criminals. They would seem to be accessories to the crime through their ignorance of what is going on their properties.
Scare them straight. The borough has the law and the power on their side to do this.
The neighbors can do it too by filing a public nuisance lawsuit against Schuylkill Investments, LLC MontCo Property Records list the apartment address as 109 N. York St. and the mailing address for the owners: 502 Red Coat Ln, Phoenixville
